Mono-ness

So, since I've been sentenced to three weeks of bedrest, I figured it would be a perfect time to start a blog. Here I am!

Here is the latest news in the battle with mono. Last night, Ken and I decided it was time to visit the ER.Well, he decided and I went along with it because I was pretty much willing to do ANYTHING to stop throwing up at that point. I had been throwing up for a couple of days, but yesterday I was getting worse and stopped being able to hold down liquids. So, off we went to Timpanogas hospital. Three hours, 2 bags of IV fluids, naseua meds, Toridol for the pain and a fat ibuprofen pill for the fever later, we left. Oh, and a strict order from the ER doc to be on bedrest for 3 to 4 weeks, which means I won't be returning to work for the rest of the school year:(. I'm disappointed, of course, but I've come to accept it now. If I go back too soon, I will just get sick again and I am so ready to be done being sick!

Luckily, my mom has volunteered to come out to Utah and take care of me for a week while Ken is working. Yay for moms! She will be here on Saturday and I am very excited.

Also, along the way I have discovered that I have wonderful people around me to help when I need it. Natalia, who came over first to change my sheets, clean my toilets and take out all the trash in my house, and then came over today to pick up a shopping list and go to the store for me. Wonderful! It makes me realize how I miss being able to do stupid stuff like that. I can't, of course, because I have zero energy. Also, to Mama Green for taking me to the doctor and the pharmacy, and to Nurse Becky at school who has been checking my temperature and my overall health for weeks now. And of course, my wonderful husband who is working like crazy to make up for the money I'm losing by not being at work, and taking care of me at the same time. And putting up with me at night when I toss and turn and wake up every hour or two.

And now, I'm back to watching food network, glancing lovingly at all the foods my stomach can't handle yet. Viva la saltine crackers and chicken broth!
